Tips for Preventing Osteoporosis

May 17th, 2011 · No Comments · 354 views

Recently my 74-year-old mother while walking, tripped on a small tuft of grass, fell - and broke her rib! Her recovery has been painful, debilitating and at times depressing. It also affected my elderly father who relies heavily on her day to day.

Surprisingly, this instance of fracture was not due to osteoporosis. However my mom’s experience caused me stop and think deeply. As a 40-something woman, am I doing everything possible to keep my skeletal system in tip-top condition?

May 16th, 2011 · No Comments · 208 views

Solving mistakes is easy if you know the right methods. It all comes down to your knowledge, experience and creativity.

When you solve a mistake, you get rid of the particular issue.. but most importantly; you learn, improve your intelligence and increase your confidence.

herefore, we should concentrate ourselves on solving mistakes instead of preventing them.

Buying An Aluminum Fence

May 15th, 2011 · No Comments · 153 views

When buying an aluminum fence, there is more to consider than simply the cost of the fence. You would also need to consider the contractor who will be installing your fence. People with vast experience in this field will be able to install your fence with little trouble, which means you will save on cost. There are many companies that will supply and install the fence for you. Even if they do not provide installation services, they will definitely be able to recommend a contractor who does. This reduces your cost, as the company would be able to give you a package deal at a good bargain.

Benefits of Teaching a Child at Home

May 14th, 2011 · No Comments · 320 views

Parents are starting to find out that one of the best ways to teach their children is though homeschooling. Amazingly, even children are choosing homeschool over public school. The benefits of a homeschool vs public school education are many. Children that are homeschooled have more time to work on projects, are able to have more hands on experiences and they don’t have the negative peer pressure that exists in public schools. Many parents choose homeschool over public schools because they want to teach their children religion and moral values. In the debate over homeschool vs public school, homeschooling is winning in many states.

Low-calorie Food Options

May 12th, 2011 · No Comments · 461 views

Most of us equate the word diet with calorie reduction. This is understandable, since most diet marketing is relentlessly focused on offering consumers low-calorie options.

Unfortunately, this way of thinking is categorically wrong. The simple fact that any nutritionist will verify is that everyone is on a diet. Even those who do not wish, or do not need, to lose weight are on a diet, as are those who are increasing their weight. Dieting has nothing to do with calorie reduction, and everything to do with calories choices. The foods you ‘choose’ to eat determine the type of diet you are on.

The Blame Game To Lose

May 11th, 2011 · No Comments · 300 views

What do you win when you play the blame game? If you could convince others that your parents are to blame for the way you are, what good would it do? If your business failure could be blamed on something that really wasn’t your fault, would that help? Can blaming our personal problems on outside factors ever be helpful?

Possibly. There is some evidence that assigning failure to things outside our control may be useful for maintaining self esteem and motivation. An example is when someone says “Oh, the rain ruined the event,” then adds, “I’ll have to plan for that next time.” The truth is, though, that many would just blame the rain without adding the second part of the thought.

Bulimia Disorder

May 9th, 2011 · No Comments · 418 views

In our society, the perceived perfect image of women falls right in line with the slenderness of girls 10 to 12 years old. This unrealistic perception spawned by the supermodels seen today in ads for popular clothing and undergarment makers such as Victoria’s secret has caused many women to become obsessed with their own images.

In our society, women are ten times more likely to develop eating disorders and compulsive exercise habits that can be life threatening and often do prove to be fatal.
